Roy Walter Allen, 88, of Poplar Bluff, Missouri passed away on Tuesday, October 13, 2026, at the Manor Nursing Home with his loving family by his side.

He was born on September 17, 1938 in Poplar Bluff, Missouri, to Clarence Allen and Cressie Ethel (Brown) Allen. On August 18, 1960, in Poplar Bluff, Missouri Roy married Laquita Joy York.

Roy was of the Baptist faith. He was a member of the Elks Lodge for over 45 years, a Teamster for 66 years, and Chairman of the Bingo Committee. He loved playing cards, drinking beer with friends, and playing golf. Roy especially loved spending time with his family.

Roy is survived by his wife, Laquita Allen; two sons, Roy Gregory Allen, and Jeffery D. Allen; one daughter, Gwendala Allen; eight grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; and five great grandchildren. He was proceeded in death by his parents, Clarence and Ethel Allen; five brothers, and two sisters. A host of family and friends survive.

Visitation will be held 10:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday, October 20, 2026 at Fitch-Hillis Funeral Home at 366 College Street, Poplar Bluff, Missouri. Elks Lodge service will start at 11 a.m. Funeral service will be held at 12:30 p.m. with Pastor Bryon Beck officiating. Interment will follow funeral service at Black River Cemetery. Fitch-Hillis Funeral Home is assisting with all arrangements.
