Robert Lee Williford, 76, of Poplar Bluff, Missouri, passed away on Monday, September 14, 2026 at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center.

He was born on March 10, 1950, in St. Louis, Missouri, to James P Williford and Bernice A (Jackson) Williford. On March 29, 1974 Robert married Laura McCarroll in Pocahontas, Arkansas.

Robert enjoyed going to car races, racing his own car, anything to do with cars. He loved telling wild stories to his friends and family. Robert proudly served in the United States Army.

Robert is survived by his wife, Laura Williford; two sons, Robert “Bobby” (Tam) Williford, and Shawndel Cortez Williford; one brother, James (Kathy) Williford; one sister, Audrey Williford; three grandchildren, Alex Williford, Heather Williford, and Samantha Williford; and several nieces and nephews. He was proceeded in death by his parents, James and Bernice Williford; and three sisters, Laura Jones, Barbara Caruthers, and Margell Pittman. A host of family and friends survive.

Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Fitch-Hillis Funeral Home is assisting with all arrangements.
