Robert John VanMinsel

Robert John VanMinsel, 60, of Poplar Bluff, Missouri, passed away on Saturday, March, 28, 2026 in St. Louis, Missouri.

He was born on June 26, 1965, in Hartford, Wisconsin, to Jerome VanMinsel and Myra (Molg) VanMinsel.

Robert enjoyed hunting, camping, bird watching, going to museums, civil war reenactments, studying natural history, watching hockey games and Formula 1 racing. He especially loved spending time with his family and friends.

Robert is survived by his son Mathew (Jacquelyn) VanMinsel of Poplar Bluff; two daughters, Mariah VAnMinsel, and Amber VanMinsel both of Poplar Bluff; four brothers, Jim VanMinsel, Tom Heimermen, Ebon Heimermen, Terry Heimermen; and three sisters, Barbara Heimermen, Joyce Strupp, and Linda Heimermen-Rickert. He is preceded in death by his parents Jerome and Myra VanMinsel; and one brother, Fred Heimermen. A host of family and friends survive.

Celebration of Life will be held at 10a.m. on May 16, 2026 at the Lodge in Calumet County Park in Hilbert, Wisconsin. Fitch-Hillis Funeral Home is assisting with all arrangements.
