Robert James Blackwood

Robert James Blackwood, 70, of Poplar Bluff, Missouri, passed away Tuesday, September 3, 2024, in his home.

Robert was born October 21, 1953, in Sterling, Kansas to Glenn Foster Blackwood and Martha Elizabeth (Adair) Blackwood. He married Pamela (Knotts) Foster on January 4, 1997, in Lowell, Oregon.

Robert was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses in November of 1973. He enjoyed going camping, playing frisbee golf, visiting the ocean, especially the Oregon coast, and just being in nature. Robert enjoyed watching football, especially the Oregon Ducks. Robert was a wonderful and loving husband, father, brother, uncle, and friend.

Robert is survived by his wife: Pamela Blackwood; two sons: Kevin Blackwood of Lowell, Oregon and Jason Blackwood and wife Nan of Vanceboro, North Carolina; one daughter: Amy Foster of Poplar Bluff; a brother: William Blackwood and wife Irish of the Philippines; and a sister Ann Meinhardt and husband Curtis of Springfield, Illinois. He was preceded in death by both of his parents.

A memorial service is being held on Saturday September 21, 2024, at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Poplar Bluff. Fitch-Hillis Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements.
