Mavis F. Presson

Mavis F. Presson, 82, of Poplar Bluff, Mo., died October 18, 2017 at Oakdale Care Center. She was born in Broseley, Mo. June 13, 1935 to the late Les Presson and Flossie (May) Presson. She was a long time resident of Butler County. She was a member of First Church of God. Mavis began her career in education at Coon Island Elementary in Neelyville School District. She retired from the Poplar Bluff School District. She is survived by one sister, Carolyn Eddy of Broseley. Also surviving are four nieces and four nephews who in her eyes were like her children. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by two brothers, Coy and Kenneth Presson; and one sister , Joyce Absheer. Visitation will be Saturday, October 21, 2017, at 10:00 A.M. at Fitch-Hillis Funeral Home Chapel. The funeral will follow at 11:00 A.M. The Rev. Ron Roth will officiate. Burial will be at Memorial Gardens
