Harry Lee Boggs, 85, of Hendrickson, Missouri, passed away on Wednesday, March 25, 2026 surrounded by his loving family.
He was born on February 1, 1941, in Marmaduke, Arkansas, to Arthur Wade “Jack” Boggs and Cordelia Francis (Climer) Boggs. On November 2, 1969, Harry married the love of his life Dena Mae Magill.
Harry and Dena met at Brasch Manufacturing in St. Louis, Missouri. After leaving St. Louis Harry and Dena resided in Paragould, Arkansas for several years before relocation to Hendrickson, Missouri. Harry was a supervisor of Darling Manufacturing for many years before retirement. He loved playing cards and would challenge anyone he met to a game. He also enjoyed fishing, playing video games and listening to his Johnny Cash albums endlessly. Harry made the best cherry pie that one could possibly ask for. He never met a stranger and ready to share a joke and a story. His stories would range from riding in Elvis’ car to how to catch a “chicken choker”.
Harry was loved and will be greatly missed by all that knew him. The family finds comfort knowing he is at peace in the arms of the Lord and is telling jokes to his daughter and family that are in Heaven waiting for them.
Harry is survived by his loving wife, Dena Boggs; one daughter Teresa (Dale) Blancett; one sister, Carolyn Jones; three grandchildren, Alexandra Vernon, Elizabeth Blancett, and Jonathan Vernon. He is preceded in death by one daughter, Michelle Vernon; his parents, Arthur “Jack” and Cordelia Boggs; and two brothers, Alfred Boggs, and Roger Boggs. A host of family and friends survive.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. on April 4, 2026, at Fitch-Hillis Funeral Home at 366 College Street, Poplar Bluff, Missouri. Celebration of Life will follow visitation at 6 p.m. with Tony Pursell officiating. Fitch-Hillis Funeral Home is assisting with all arrangements.
