Floyd Allen Wilson, 76, of Poplar Bluff, Missouri, passed away on Sunday, September 06, 2026, in Poplar Bluff, Missouri.

He was born on June 14, 1950, in Polar Bluff, Missouri, to Woodrow Wilson and Berniece (Jurls) Wilson.

Floyd was a long-time resident of Poplar Bluff. He enjoyed working on classic cars; playing pool, and riding his motorcycle, and watching the Kansas City Chiefs. He especially loved spending time with his family and friends. Floyd was proud of his time he served in the Unite States Navy as a Boiler Technician on ships during the Vietnam War. He served on several ships: USS England DLG-22 Guided Missile Frigate (June 2, 1969 – September 14, 1969), USS Gurke DD783 Destroyer BT3 (May 4, 1970 – March 31, 1972), USS Floyd B. Parks Destroyer (September 3, 1972 – February 2, 1972), and USS Stein DE1022 Destroyer Escort (May 18, 1974 – October 15, 1976).

Floyd is survived by two brothers, David Wilson, and Noah Wilson; two sisters, Charlene Hill, and Teresa Wilson; special niece, Tonya Wells; favorite great nephew, Jack King; special niece, Debbie (Chris) Gravil; special nephew, Joe Scavio; several nieces and nephews; and lots of friends. He was proceeded in death by his parents, Woodrow and Berniece Wilson; and two sisters, Dolores Scavio, and Mary Baker. A host of family and friends survive.

Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, September 28, 2026, with full military honors at Missouri State Veterans Cemetery at 17357 Stars and Stripes Way, Bloomfield, Missouri 63825. Fitch-Hillis Funeral Home is assisting with all arrangements.
