Douglas Lee Krueger, 66, of Poplar Bluff, Missouri, passed away on Thursday, October 01, 2026, with his loving family by his side.

Doug was born on July 03, 1960, in Poplar Bluff, Missouri, to David Krueger and Willena (Black) Krueger. On May 26, 1990 in Grandin, Missouri, Douglas married the love of his life, Velvet Jones.

Doug enjoyed spending his time in nature, around animals, gardening and building beautiful things. Doug loved spending time with his loved ones, especially his grandchildren who he enjoyed sharing his love of nature with.

Douglas is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Velvet Krueger; two daughters, Heather Jones, and Samantha (Dwaine) Wilmot; one son, Rondel Pruett; one brother David (Tonya) Krueger; fifteen grandchildren and six great grandchildren that he loved with all of his heart; and several nieces and nephews with a special shout out to Mandy (Gary) Moore. He was proceeded in death by his parents, David and Willena Krueger; his son, Jason Pruett; and one sister, Tammy Krueger. A host of family and friends survive.

Visitation will be held at 3 p.m. on Monday, October 5, 2026 at Fitch-Hillis Funeral Chapel at 366 College Street, Poplar Bluff, Missouri. Funeral service will follow at 4 p.m. Fitch-Hillis Funeral Home is assisting with all arrangements.
