Deanie Waite

Deanie Waite, 90, of Poplar Bluff, Missouri, passed away Thursday, January 8, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born on August 5, 1935, in Shelbina, Missouri, to Virgil Todd and Myrtle (Boling) Todd. On March 5, 1954, Deanie married Max Waite.

Deanie was a long-time resident of Poplar Bluff, Missouri. She was a member of the 1st United Methodist Church of Poplar Bluff; was a member of Mona Mason Circle and was the backbone of the Church bazaar every year. She enjoyed working in her flower garden, cooking for her family, and she especially loved to spend time with her family. Mrs. Waite was a childcare provider at Brownie’s Day Care for more than 31 years.

Deanie is survived by one son, Scott (Brenda) Waite; two daughters Jeannie Waite, and Suzy Lux; one daughter-in-law, Chris Waite; two brothers; two sisters; nine grandchildren, Jason, Tom, Chris, Stephen, KaCee, Erica, Chelsea, Nicole, and B.J.; and seventeen great grandchildren. Deanie is preceded in death by her husband, Max Waite; her parents, Virgil and Myrtle Todd; two sons, Brian Waite, and Stephen Waite; four brothers; and four sisters. A host of family and friends also survive.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that donation be made to the American Heart Association in Deanie’s name.

A private family burial will be scheduled at a later date. Fitch-Hillis Funeral Home is assisting with all funeral arrangements.
