Betty Sue Dover

Betty Sue Dover, 77, of Poplar Bluff, Missouri, passed away Thursday, December 25, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born on May 21, 1948, in Jericho, Arkansas, to Joseph (Jody) Vaughn and Inez (Reece) Vaughn. On September 8, 1979, Betty married Jearald Dover.

Betty was a long-time resident of Poplar Bluff, Missouri. She enjoyed reading, shopping, coloring, playing games on her phone, and watching Gunsmoke. Betty especially loved spending time with her grandchildren.

Betty is survived by two sons, Larry (Brandy) Barriner, and James (Selena) Barriner; one daughter Laressa (Josh) Clubb; one brother, Jack (Peggy) Hendrickson; one sister, Sandra Kay (Don Stovall) Harrison; one sister-in-law, Glanda Vaughn; seven grandchildren; six great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Betty is preceded in death by her husband, Jearald Dover; her parents, Joseph and Inez Vaughn; two brothers, Joe David Vaughn, and Ronald Lewis Vaughn; and two sisters, Freda Mae (Bill) Bryan, and Ruth Ann O’Dell. A host of family and friends also survive.

Visitation will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, January 2, 2026, at Fitch-Hillis Funeral Home at 366 College Street, Poplar Bluff, Missouri. Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, January 2, 2026, at Fitch-Hillis Funeral Chapel with officiating. Interment will follow funeral service at City Cemetery, Poplar Bluff, Missouri. Fitch-Hillis Funeral Home is assisting with all funeral arrangements.
