Anita Kay Holmes

Anita Kay Holmes, 71, of Dexter, Missouri, passed away on Monday, January 19, 2026, at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center.

She was born on September 8, 1954, in Flint, Michigan, to Murel Leek and Glenda (Thorn) Leek.

Anita was a long-time resident of Dexter, Missouri. She was a member of the Stoddard County Historical Society. She enjoyed looking up genealogy and spending time with her grandchildren.

Anita is survived by one son, Joshua Holmes; one daughter, Tammy Harris; three brothers, Tommy Christian, Vernon Christian, and Don Christian; two sisters, Judy Sadler, and Peggy Christian; three grandchildren; and two great grandchildren. Anita is preceded in death by parents, Murel and Glenda Leek. A host of family and friends also survive.

There are no services scheduled at this time. Fitch-Hillis Funeral Home is assisting with all funeral arrangements.
